[Anubad] Introduction mail

Not sticking to a committed time for on-line sessions is a waste of
everybody’s time. Besides that, I do not see any reason why a preliminary
set of information was not passed over email. This would not only set the
agenda for the work to be done during the limited time of an online
session, but also help the new volunteer be prepared with some background
information. As far as I can understand, most of the recently introduced
translation volunteers have joined after they came to know about the
 translation projects at some local events. I see two things missing in
this scheme of things:

1. The volunteer(s) who made first contact with the new volunteers did not
direct them about appropriately communicating with the community. For
instance, Arijita had sent a mail to the Mozilla global list and we had to
guide her back to the Ankur lists to send in an introduction. Same with
Priyanka, who got routed through a mail exchange with a translator for
another language.

2. None of these new translators were primed with any information about the
translation work-flow, when they were initially told about this project.
That includes, the content in question, the files, the location of the
content, the tools and the processes followed both by the main project and
by the group. Representing half the workflow will only confuse people who
are trying to understand how things work.

I understand that Sayak and now Biraj have commitments as local
representatives for Mozilla. But doing a half-baked initiation for new
contributors without any sort of follow-up will make things complicated for
everyone involved. Please get together and find a way to ensure that when
representing the Bengali (India) translation community, you have a set of
information handy that is synchronised with the main translation project
that you are introducting people to.
